Luxembourg – The European Stability Mechanism (ESM) completed its funding needs for the third quarter on Wednesday, raising €4 billion in a dual-tranche deal.
"The ESM met with strong investor appetite across the yield curve today. Order books were excellent for both tranches of the deal: a new 10-year benchmark deal and a tap at the ultra-long end. The ESM has now fully met its funding needs of €8 billion for the third quarter,” said Siegfried Ruhl, ESM Head of Funding and Investor Relations.

Mr Strauch, Monday is a significant day for Greece. Officially, the country is leaving the support programme. Looking back, since 2010, five countries have also been receiving loans from the ESM. Greece is now facing a debt of 290 billion euros, which must be repaid. What do you think of this high number?
