Compensation and benefits

The ESM offers competitive remuneration – with reference to appropriate peer institutions and market conditions – and a comprehensive benefits package that includes worldwide medical insurance cover for staff and dependents, life and disability insurance, leave, and a retirement plan.
Basic salaries are determined according to the level of job responsibility and are reviewed annually to ensure that the ESM’s compensation remains attractive.

Additional benefits may be provided to staff if they meet the corresponding eligibility criteria:

Allowances - for eligible staff, expatriation, household and child allowances will be paid.

Health and travel insurance - health and travel insurance for staff and their eligible dependents are offered with immediate effect when emplyment begins.

Life and work incapacity insurance - life insurance and work incapacity insurance, in the event of accident or illness.

Retirement benefits - a modern and robust retirement plan, consisting of both a defined benefit and a defined contribution pillar.

Installation benefits - We provide staff that join the ESM from outside Luxembourg, under certain conditions, with the following benefits:
