ESM appoints Juan Rojas as Head of Economics and Market Analysis
Luxembourg – The European Stability Mechanism (ESM) has promoted Juan Rojas to Head of the Economics and Market Analysis division. Since Mr Rojas joined the ESM in April 2013 as Senior Country Economist, he has been promoted to Deputy Head of Economics and Market Analysis in 2014.
Mr Rojas previously worked as Senior Economist at the Bank of Spain. He lectured International Economics at the IE Business School in Madrid, held positions at Universidad Carlos III, and has published widely in relevant academic journals. He holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence.
The ESM’s Managing Director, Klaus Regling, said: “Juan Rojas has shown great skills and done an outstanding job since he joined the ESM. I’m very glad that he accepted this position. This team plays a pivotal role in the ESM operation by analysing the macroeconomic environment and the financial markets, contributing to our financial assistance programme and running the ESM’s Early Warning System”.
