Anabela Reis

Anabela Reis is Deputy Head of Communications and Deputy Chief Spokesperson at the European Stability Mechanism. She joined the ESM in September 2018 as a Senior Spokesperson, covering policy issues for the ESM and acting as the spokesperson for Southern Europe. She stepped in as Acting Head for Communications during 9 months in 2021.

Before joining the ESM, Anabela Reis was a journalist for 18 years, working for 12 years at Bloomberg News as a reporter and later as a deputy team lead. Before that she reported for 6 years for the Portuguese news agency Lusa.

Mrs. Reis has a degree in International Business Relations from Minho University, Portugal, and studied International Relations and European studies at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences in Lisbon.
