Bulgaria joins ESM - video

On 1 January 2026, Bulgaria adopted the euro, becoming the 21st EU member state to adopt the Euro, a clear sign of the euro area’s ongoing appeal. On 29 June 2026, Bulgaria is set to become the 21st Member of the ESM - reinforcing our shared commitment to cooperation across Europe. At the #ESMBoG2026 Annual Meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Minister of Finance of Bulgaria, Galab Donev, and marking this significant moment together. We look forward to this next chapter.
