ESMAT Registrar and Deputy Registrar appointed

As of 1 January 2026, Ms Tonia Gillett has been appointed Registrar of the Administrative Tribunal of the ESM (ESMAT), and Ms Chioma Onwuamaegbu has been appointed Deputy Registrar of the ESMAT.

This development follows recent updates to the ESMAT legal framework – its Statute and Rules of Procedure and marks an important milestone in the continued strengthening of the Tribunal’s institutional framework.

The ESMAT Registrar and Deputy Registrar shall ensure the smooth, independent, and efficient administration of the Tribunal’s proceedings, including case management, procedural support to the President and Judges, and oversight of records. They will carry out the Tribunal’s executive, organisational, administrative, and secretarial functions, with the Deputy Registrar stepping in fully whenever the Registrar is unavailable. Both roles require high professional integrity, independence, and expertise in international administrative law.
