Senior Internal Communication Officer
Job description
Deadline for application: 27 February 2026. The ESM is looking for a Senior Internal Communication Officer to assist in further developing the ESM’s internal communication strategy, in close cooperation with the Head of Communication / Chief Spokesperson and contribute to its implementation.
The position involves close collaboration with various departments to ensure consistent and effective communication within the institution.
The selected candidate will have a strong background in internal communication and good knowledge about the ESM’s activities. S/he will report to the Head of Communication / Chief Spokesperson and will work as part of the Communications team.
Key Accountabilities
Contribute actively to the further development of the ESM internal communication strategy.
Develop concrete and effective ideas to boost staff engagement.
Establish communication plans for internal events.
Liaise with key internal stakeholders to understand and assess their internal communication needs.
Draft and edit internal articles for the ESM’s intranet platform to deliver clear and concise messages on internal and external ESM activities.
Manage the pages of the ESM’s intranet platform.
Establish criteria to assess and enhance the effectiveness of internal communication.
Key Background & Experience
Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field with a strong background in economics and finance.
Minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in internal communication within a company, public institution, or NGO. Prior experience in an International Financial Institution is considered an asset.
Good understanding of European policy debates that are relevant to the ESM.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Good written and spoken knowledge of at least one additional EU language is an advantage.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or other comparable tools is an advantage.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva is considered an asset.

Contract duration Four-year fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension
Place of employment: Luxembourg
Current working arrangements: possibility to work remotely, usually up to two days a week, from Luxembourg and the border region (or from further away under certain conditions).
