Stefano Finesi

Stefano Finesi is a Senior Legal Counsel in the Legal and Procurement division at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), which he joined in July 2017. He is responsible for the Capital Markets matters and deals with all the legal and regulatory profiles relating to the funding and investment activities of the ESM and the European Financial Stability Facility.

Prior to joining the ESM, Mr Finesi worked in Italy and the United Kingdom at two international law firms and a financial institution, with a focus on debt capital markets, banking, and structured finance transactions.

He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in law from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome as well as an ICMA Diploma in Securities and Derivatives. He authored publications relating to securities law and banking regulation.

Mr Finesi is admitted to practice in Italy and in England and Wales.
