2020 Q1 United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment

UNITED NATIONS PRINCIPLES FOR RESPONSIBLE INVESTMENT

On 27 February 2020, the ESM became a signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN-PRI). This is an important step forward in the ESM’s institution wide efforts in relation to our environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.

The UN-PRI is a leading and reputable international investor network launched in April 2006, signed by more than 2,900 investors from over 50 countries, representing over US $90 trillion of assets. The objective of the UN-PRI is to encourage institutional investors to consider ESG issues and to provide its signatories support for integrating them into their investment framework. By becoming a signatory, investors commit to integrating ESG considerations into their investment practices.
