Peter Paluš serves as the Head of the Financial Unit at the Permanent Representation of Slovakia to the European Union and a Member of the EFC (Economic and Financial Committee) and EWG (Eurogroup Working Group). His portfolio includes Financial Services and Financial Stability, Economic Affairs, EU Budget including Multiannual Financial Framework, Taxation and Customs. He is an acting Deputy for the Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic at the Eurogroup meetings. Mr. Paluš also represents Slovakia at the Board of Directors of the ESM and EFSF. He was recently elected a member of the ESM Budget Review and Compensation Committee. Prior to that, from 2017 until 2020 (October), he was a member of the ESM Board Risk Committee and the EFSF Audit Committee. 

Prior to his current post, from February 2012 until April 2015, Mr Paluš served as a Financial Services Attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Slovak Republic to the European Union. Mr Paluš acquired extensive experience in financial sector issues having worked as Chief Supervisor and Principal Regulatory Expert at the Central Bank of Slovakia from 2006 until 2012. 

Mr Paluš studied in the Johannes Kepler University in Austria and holds a Master’s degree in Investment, Banking & Finance from the University of Economics in Bratislava.
