Ricardo Sousa is a Senior Economist at the Economic and Market Analysis Division of the European Stability Mechanism. He is also an Associate Professor (on leave) at the Department of Economics of the University of Minho, and a Researcher at the Economic Policies Research Unit (NIPE).
He holds a BSc in Economics and a MPhil in Economic Policy from the University of Minho, and a MRes and a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Ricardo's main research interests include Macroeconomics, Monetary and Fiscal Policy, Empirical Finance, Housing, Emerging Markets, Political Economy, and Economic Modelling and Quantitative Methods.
He has published in international peer-reviewed journals such as Computational Economics, Energy Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Macroeconomics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Macroeconomic Dynamics and Review of International Economics.
