Gong Cheng is currently a senior economist and policy strategist at the European Stability Mechanism. He previously worked as an economist in the International Macroeconomics Division at the Banque de France.
Gong holds a PhD in Economics from Sciences Po, Paris, and Masters’ degrees in Finance and International Political Economy from Sciences Po and London School of Economics. Gong was also a visiting researcher at the Department of Economics at UC Berkeley in 2012-2013.
Gong’s research field is international macroeconomics and finance, with a focus on cross-border capital flows, IMF, regional financing arrangements, and sovereign debt restructuring.
